After having attended the International Tourism Fair in Madrid (FITUR) in January and the “Salon des Vacances” in Brussels in March, Malgrat de Mar took part in the Expovacaciones Fair which took place in Bilbao from the 6th to the 8th of May.
The Tourism Officer of the Malgrat de Mar Town Council, Ester Gil, has been in charge of explaining the variety of tourist options of our town to all the curious people who have come to the stand at the Diputació de Barcelona.
Malgrat de Mar attended the fair again in order to promote the services offered by the destination in the Basque Country. This year we had our own stand and were accompanied by neighbouring tourist destinations: Calella, Castelldefels, Penedès, Manresa, Garraf, Berguedà and Costa de Barcelona.
The fair, which was held in Bilbao, was focused on the end consumer and was attended by more than 69,200 visitors interested in finding new holiday destinations. The fair was also attended by 228 tourist destinations or companies.
Malgrat de Mar is so much more than just a town with long idyllic beaches, as it also offers nature, culture and gastronomy. Thanks to our prime location between the cities of Barcelona and Girona and the good transport connections, it is a very attractive tourist destination for the inhabitants of Bilbao.
The outlook for tourism this summer is very optimistic, and it is expected to mark recovery after two years affected by the pandemic and restrictions.
