The beaches in Malgrat de Mar
Malgrat de Mar is a Mediterranean town and it enjoys mild weather almost all year round. That is why in the summer you will have the chance to spend some days of sun and beach with your family in town.
On the beaches of Malgrat de Mar you can do a lot more than you expect: from observing the native flora of dunes to discovering the historical past of the town represented by La Pilona. All the beaches in Malgrat have lifeguard and security services, walkways for people with disabilities, adapted toilets, showers and bins.
Right at the heart of the hotel area, it is one of the most touristic beaches of Malgrat the Mar. It features a leisure atmosphere, surrounded by beach bars, picnic areas and a wide choice of activities such as a surveilled floating water park for children. This beach was awarded the Blue Flag distinction.
Malgrat Centre Beach
Walking to the sea from the town centre you will find this beach. It is the most frequented by people from Malgrat, specially families, which provides it with a peaceful atmosphere. Malgrat Centre was awarded the Blue Flag some years ago, it is a coarse sand beach and its average water temperatures are the highest in Malgrat.
The longest beach in Malgrat de Mar. It is the ideal beach for lovers of nature since it happens to be one of few places where rural and agricultural areas meet the beach in the region. A good place to discover the native flora that blooms in spring and has great environmental value.
Punta de la Tordera Beach
It is located across from the camping area of Malgrat de Mar and reaches the mouth of Tordera river –hence the name– which is a protected area. There you will have the chance to watch birds and admire the characteristic flora of the Delta. The far end of the beach has traditionally been a nudist zone.
